Steve Eggelston

Steve Eggelston

Store Manager

Steve has been working in grocery stores for 36 years, 26 of those at Midtowne Market as Meat Manager. Today, as Midtown Market’s Store Manager, Steve loves to jump in and help out wherever needed!

With his background as a butcher, it is no surprise that Steve is a big meat guy. His favorite meat to throw on the BBQ grill is a bacon wrapped pork tenderloin filet, which he introduced at Midtowne back in 1996!

When he isn’t around the store, Steve is likely playing one of the 15 guitars in his collection.

Leo Lambert

Leo Lambert

Grocery Manager

Leo has done a lot in his life. He served in the Army at Fort Riley, worked as a manager in a couple of industrial plants, and even owned and operated two food stores, one a neighborhood market and one a delicatessen.

In his varied career, he has over 30 years in the grocery industry, working for companies from Kansas to Maine, holding almost every position a grocery store has to offer.

Leo has been married for 43 years and is a father of two sons, and grandfather of four grandchildren. He loves sports, especially hockey. Through the years, he taught kids to skate, as well as played and coached ice hockey. In his free time, he enjoys watching sports, gardening, and tending to his horses.

Joe Schmiederer

Joe Schmiederer

Meat Manager

Joe, a lifelong St. Charles native, attended Francis Howell High School and has been a butcher for 18 years, 8 at Midtowne.

He will tell you that the unique blend of family atmosphere coupled with the freedom to be creative is what makes Midtowne Market special.

Joe’s favorite steak is a ribeye. And when Joe isn’t at work trying to find a great price on ribeyes, he’s probably fishing, golfing, throwing darts, or playing fantasy football.

Michelle Loy

Michelle Loy

Deli Manager

Michelle was born and raised in St. Charles and has worked at Midtowne for over 13 years. Cooking ever since she was a toddler, Michelle loves being creative in the kitchen. She makes entrees and soups from scratch and will tell you what you want for lunch before you even know! She believes her ham salad, which is ground fresh and made in-store, is the absolute best in the world!

When not at work, Michelle, more often than not, will be out on the river, boating, skiing, or grilling on a sandbar!

Mike DiCarlo

Mike DiCarlo

Produce Manager

Mike currently lives in St. Charles and has worked at Midtowne Market for 18 years, the last 5 of those as Produce Manager.

Mike loves the unpredictability of the produce business and the way the produce selection and availability changes with the weather and the seasons.

Mike is married and the proud father of a three-year old daughter. When he’s not busy working at Midtowne Market or being a family man, he’s training to compete in his next half marathon or playing drums in a local rock band.

Ellen Bornhop

Ellen Bornhop

Cake Designer

Ellen has been decorating cakes since she was a teenager, and at Midtowne for over 15 years. Chances are, if you live in St. Charles and attended a celebration, the cake was decorated by Ellen!

Ellen loves the fact that at Midtowne, customers can come in and order their cakes directly at the store, directly from the designer. This is not “assembly line” cake designing. Midtowne’s cakes are made specifically to order. Each one is unique!

When not at work, Ellen loves to shop, dine out at Tony’s on Main, or take in a movie.

Tiffany Sanders

Tiffany Sanders

Tiffany has lived in St Charles all of her life and is working at the place she always wanted to when she was a child. One of Tiffany’s fondest memories was coming to Midtowne Market as a child to get her favorite donuts from our bakery.

Tiffany loves to interact with the customers, most of who she knows by name, and talk about the history of St Charles, and local events and news.

When not at work, she loves to spend time playing outside and going to the park with her daughter. She loves to cheer on the St. Louis Cardinals or enjoy a peaceful night around a bonfire with friends and family.
